Role: Responsible for providing a full range of support to program directors, especially in compiling, drafting, and editing performance narrative reports and funding applications, drawing on contributions of program staff, many of whom are unfamiliar with reporting formats and have English as a second or other language. The Programs Coordinator is further responsible for assisting programs in developing and updating program manuals and other tools that detail the functioning of each program and articulate systems within them.

The Programs Coordinator supervises M&E staff and administers the StARS Child Safeguarding Board, a group of staff working with children responsible for: assessing the working environment and child safeguarding arrangements, the creation of a child safeguarding manual for all staff and volunteers, and making recommendations for improvement to child safeguarding to the directors group. The Programs Coordinator is responsible for the following tasks and for other duties, as assigned:

Funding:

  • Research and source new funding
  • Lead and support in the development of funding applications
  • Manage the completion of high quality funding reports across the organization
  • Maintain accurate and current records of all funding documents and data

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Provide direct supervision to the M & E team
  • Identify and resolve any issues with monitoring and evaluation systems
  • Ensure that all programs have strong monitoring and evaluation tools in place
  • Work to support program coordinators in improving their knowledge of M & E systems and tools
  • Develop and conduct internal evaluations as appropriate

Across Programs

  • Provide direct supervision to the Programs Officer
  • Support the Director of Programs in their tasks as requested
  • Assist directors and coordinators in developing and updating tools for their programs
  • Develop and conduct training for staff with the support of the management team and other programs
  • Develop new tools for all staff with the support of the management team and other programs
  • Assist in other cross-programmatic efforts, such as child safeguarding, gender equality, and disability mainstreaming as requested

Requirements:

· Fluency in written and spoken English.

· Strong drafting skills are essential.

· Fluency in another language is encouraged.

· A history of displacement in Egypt is a strength.

· A history or background of displacement is required.

· A demonstrated ability to work under pressure and maintain professional standards.

· Ability to communicate respectfully with their supervisor, other staff members, clients and students, and external partners.

· Commitment to StARS values of non-discrimination, human dignity, non-violence, and respect.

· Proactive, punctual, reliable, and responsible.

· Well-organized and detail-oriented.

· Willingness to learn and improve on skills.

Hours: 40 hour work week (Sunday to Thursday) and other hours as required

Supervised by: Director of Programs

Salary: 9,300 EGP/month, rising to 10,300 EGP a month following successful completion of probation period, 335 EGP/month medical allowance and 100 EGP/month pension contribution).

This position is subject to a three-month probationary period, at which time the employee’s performance will be reviewed and probation may be extended.
